What Motivated You to Join The PAWS Chicago 2009 Marathon Team?
I actually chose to run the Chicago marathon based on the fact that there was an animal charity team to run for! I had been researching which marathon I should run as my first for a few months when I found the PAWS link in the Chicago marathon website. I was so happy! Animal charites have always been dear to my heart. I have always volunteered at animal shelters and donated to animal causes and had wonderful animals in my life. My kitties Percy and Pretzel are my furry children! (see my profile picutre)

Is this your first marathon?
This is my first marathon although I have always wanted to run one. :)

On mile 20, what will you think of to keep going?
I will think of all of the animals I am helping, I will think of Annie and my family, and I will think of as many Rolling Stones songs as I can!

What obstacles, fears or challenges are you overcoming by running the marathon?
I am overcoming years of struggling with my self esteem. I haven't always taken very good care of myself physically or emotionally and I have made many changes in my life to get to this point. Even though I have more work to do, I think running helps me focus and stay clear headed enough to tackle this marathon as well as the day to day challenges of my life.
